Zeitschrift für Ostmitteleuropa-Forschung / Journal of East Central European Studies (ZfO) is a leading journal on Central and Eastern European historical studies and edited by globally renowned experts in that field. The journal appears in print and in open access. It publishes original contributions on the history and culture of Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Ukraine and Belarus as well as cutting edge methodological and conceptional approaches to Central and Eastern European history in general.

JECES publishes articles, miscellanea, and research and reports as well as book reviews in German and English on a quarterly basis. All submitted manuscripts are subjected to a double blind peer review process.
