In response to several requests for extra time, the deadline for applications for the PSA travel grant has been extended to January 15.
The PSA travel grant was established to help scholars from Poland travel to North America to participate in a major academic conference, providing $1000 to cover the cost of transatlantic travel. Preferably the funds will be used to attend the annual convention of the Association for Slavic, East European, and Eurasian Studies (click here for more information about ASEEES), but we will consider requests for other major events, such as the national meetings of the Modern Language Association, the American Historical Association, the American Anthropological Association, etc. Applications to attend smaller conferences or symposia will be also considered, but preference will be given to those whose presentations will reach a large audience. Anyone can apply for this grant, though early-career scholars without institutional resources to cover travel expenses are particularly encouraged to request these funds. The deadline for applications will be January 15, to cover travel during the 2015-2016 academic year. Recipients must be members of the PSA (click here for more information), and must be planning to present a paper on a topic related to Poland (in any academic discipline). Since different conference organizers have different deadlines, confirmation of acceptance to the event is not necessary to win the award, though funds will not be disbursed until such confirmation is obtained.
To apply for this grant, send a copy of your c.v. along with a 1-2 page summary of the research you will present to firstname.lastname@example.org. Be sure to specify which conference you will attend, the name of your panel, and the other members of the panel.
