The Department of History and Civilisation offers a distinctive four-year Ph.D. programme of transnational and comparative European history supported by a uniquely international and multicultural faculty.
The call for applications for the fully-funded PhD programme at the European University Institute (EUI) will open on 1 November 2023.
The Department of History at the EUI offers exceptional opportunities to study the history of Europe in the World from the 15th century to the present, in the inspiring city of Florence, Italy. Researchers funded by the DAAD will receive a monthly grant of 1602 € for the first three years. The fourth year is covered by the EUI (2024 EUI fourth-year grant is 1.505 € per month, in addition to other allowances).
