Michał Paweł Markowski (University of Illinois at Chicago and Center for Advances Studies in the Humanities at Jagiellonian University in Kraków), prolific literary theorist and critic, is my guest on the latest episode of "Encounters with Polish Literature" for a discussion of the avantgarde poetry of Aleksander Wat (1900-67) and his critique of Stalinist language in his monumental memoir My Century, which was edited from tape recorded conversations with Czesław Miłosz.
