The goal of the unit is to create an interdisciplinary center that would help propagate general knowledge about Poland, its history, culture, economics, politics, society, and more. The unit offers a wide spectrum of interdisciplinary courses about Poland in various contexts and a research program in pre-modern and contemporary Polish history, literature, culture, art, political thought, economics, for graduate students from different departments. It implements joint Polish-Israeli scientific projects and supports the academic exchange of students and faculty members. The unit organizes academic conferences and guest lectures, as well as cultural events open to the general public. It offers Polish language courses at several levels of proficiency. The unit offers a limited number of scholarships and research grants for outstanding graduate students and postdocs, who conduct high-quality scientific research related to the Polish context.
