The call for applications for the fully funded PhD programme at the European University Institute (EUI) is now open. The Department of History at the EUI offers exceptional opportunities to study the history of Europe in the World from the 15th century to the present, in the inspiring city of Florence, Italy.

Applications are open until 31 January 2023. 

Thinking of applying? Want to learn more? Join us in a series of live and interactive webinars in which prospective applicants will be able to find out more about the History PhD programme, by talking directly to its faculty and researchers. After a short introduction to the EUI and the department, participants will be able to discuss and ask questions regarding the PhD programme and about life at the EUI and in Florence.
